Exciting times ahead

I have been asked to teach a cyber class next year for the Cyberpointers. The idea is that it will be class on finishing. I would like to take it one step further and do a Start to Finish project.

It will be an ideal gift for any age when done.

Here is a sneak peek, it very much in the early stages and I am using stash threads until I have it on paper. Then I will use some readily available threads.

Ballet sweater

I made one these a couple of years ago for Fiona and seeing her wearing it reminded me how much I enjoyed the bell like rib.

Amanda has been needing a new pink sweater for spring and ballet. Pleased that I actually used some yarn from my stash, this only took 100 grams.

Before I forget the pattern is from a Rowen book.

Christmas is coming!

Just had an urge to make some cards. Really pleased with how this one works.

Crane Kimono

 Used Gloriana silk for the black outline with 4 strands in cross stitch to create a nice dense line.  Then used 2 strands for the neck of the crane in continental.  Thinking of doing a wrapped stem stitch for the legs and long and short for the wing feathers.

 Again Gloriana but in a gentle red overdye.  For this I have so far done the right section in a couched diagonal stitch the left section will be slanted in the opposite direction.  Not sure about the central area yet but leaning towards a horizontal couching.

I could get hooked on these Kimonos and already have another in the bag of threads talking to me.

Bright quilt for a bright girl.

One young lady in her newly floored bedroom and a new quilt to celebrate her having a big girl bed.  I will be making pillow cases for this one and the chop stick quilt I made for her big sister.

The pattern is one I found on Moda Bake Shop.  Of course now I can't find the link for it.

The fabrics are a combination of a collection I purchased several years ago and the dotty black that just seemed to say excuse me I would look really good in here.  Of course I didn't have enough for the binding so ended up buying a multi coloured stripe.

It's not often that I use my Bailey longarm quilting machine due to space restrictions but it always does the job required of it.  I am thinking of purchasing a stitch regulator for her (she is called Bessie).

Back from Williamsburg, VA

This was our third visit to Williamsburg.  There is something about the history and beauty that just keep drawing me back.

As always we go for Spring break but this time we hit the beauty motherloade.  The flowers and trees were amazing.

Driving around the area was just a picture with cherry blossom and dogwood trees.

 Here are my two girls in the gardens at Williamsburg.  I first made these dresses two years ago so I had to lengthen them.  Also a certain little lady wanted a bit of fuss on hers now so I added some lace around the neckline to match her sister's.  Don't you just love the Colonial foot wear?

 Tulips, bluebells anemone etc just my idea of perfection.  I will have to work on the bulbs in my own garden.

 Might just have to use this one as a Christmas card I love the setting with the little cottage to the rear.

 Some of these pictures may have to find a place on the walls of my house.

 Checkout the woven picots, I just love the look for the center of the flower and even more of Sue's beloved bullions.

It is cool how a simple backstitch can make such a difference to a piece.
