Teaching

Fun day with 4 ladies, one from Canada.  I decided to design a mug mat that involved a bit of regular applique, some wool applique and embelishment using embroidery.

Lynne at the head of the table has barely lifted a needle before, achieved wonderful things and is already thinking of what to add next to her heart.

Hope I have the name spelt right Johann is sitting to the left bottom.  MIL to Carmela top left.  Johann has sewn before and became our fast stitcher.  Even finished her mat before time.  She is visiting her DIL for a while so will have a special self made souveniour to take home to Canada.

Louise to the right also got stuck in and is thinking a sewing basket is in her future with a needlecase made by herself.

This a Johann with her mat.

Lynne with her process so far.  Next she intends to add a scattering of beads in the heart.

Break from ANG SOM 2010

I like to make an ornament for a special friend when I have the time.  Well I decided to do an embellished heart.  Well my 3 year old saw it and said she'd like one and I should also do one for my 9 year old.

They only took a couple of days and I'm very pleased with the results.

This is the first using wool, silk taffeta, silk velvet and a variety of threads and some beads.

Valentines

Well I promised further details on my Valentine projects. I am using the heart outline from The Royal Millennium Collection- February by Coleman Cottage Designs for Kreinik but doing my own things with the background and fillings. This picture is the first completed ball using threads from my stash. I will admit to using a newly purchased Watercolor for the second one as it was just too perfect with the Kreinik and DMC Pearl I've used in the background.
Hope to finish stitching the second one today, kids allowing. The first one will be raffled by 3C's an international group I belong to and the second will go to a wonderful friend.
